Repetitive vaccination each year with multiple vaccines and deparasitation every 45 days (for the deparasitation of puppies it would be wise to begin with half dose initially and increase progressively. There is danger, however, if the puppy or even if the adult dog has a lot of endoparasites, that by  giving the strongest dose all parasitises may die but the dog or the puppy in its effort to bring them out from the intestine, because of the large quantity, not to accomplish it, causing ileus, or even death.)
To treat exoparasites it will be wise to follow a program so as to overcome this nightmare. That is to say, we should begin with a general disinfection of the area where we keep our dog. There are certain products we can use to spray the area, the ground, the dog’s lodge as well as the spots that it visits. It would be wise to repeat the disinfection in fifteen days so as to be sure for the result. Then, this disinfection would be wise to be repeated yearly in the beginning of spring. At the same time, we should use some disinfecting sprey on our dog’s coat so that we clean it from the possibly parasites, or render it invulnerable to the ones that it may carry from the mountain and which will die before the dog brings them home. This spraying should be repeated every 3 months or even earlier depending on the population of parasites that exist in our region.
Exoparasites (ticks, fleas) can transport a lot of illnesses to our dog. A very usual one is psora which is presented initially with plucking of the coat in certain spots and almost circularly and afterwards it creates wounds that close and open with short intervals. There are many products you can use to bathe your dog from the beginning of summer and 1-2 times, thus your dog will always be clean and without dermatoses.
Very annoying are the flies that go and sit at the tip of ears and sting the skin locally creating serious wounds. They may also go to small wounds that our dog may get from the branches on the mountain which can transport fungi that don’t let the wound close, thus we may notice that our dog has a wound which never closes although it is trying to with its saliva. A very good product is TAK-TIK for treating fungi, exoparasites (fleas, ticks) but also for dermatoses and for psora. Frequent disinfections in our dog’s living space and around it, as well as frequent deparasitations from endoparasites and exoparasites will contribute in order for our dog not to be infected by Kalaazar.

Another frequent problem for dogs is that the paws may get wounded after the long walks or hunting on the mountain and usually when it has been a long time for the dog since it stepped on rocks. If the case is such, we notice that the problem may be serious, as they may delay a lot to heal and may be very painful. The best solution is to use iodine but a single application is not enough. You can use Betadine that does not tingle; fill a big container with it, so that the dog’s paw fits entirely. Use as much quantity of Betadine is needed in order to cover the entire paw and keep it there for 1-2 minutes so as for the liquid to cover the whole wound. Repeat this 2-3 times a day. Thus, in 3-4 days the wound will have healed completely. Of course, to avoid all these from happening, it would be wise to exercise your dog regularly - 3-4 times a week, 2-3 hours each time, in order for the paws to remain hard and not to get easily hurt.
The big nightmare for hunters and dogs are poisonous baits which some people use for big predators or for hound dogs. Still some use them for weasels, foxes or birds that get advantage of the chicken runs. Even if they are prohibited, unfortunately they are still very widely used.
Do not wait for the worst to happen; be informed by your veterinarian, be well-prepared by keeping the suitable antidotes and be certain that you will overcome whatever happens. I, myself, have succeeded to save my dogs 3 times from a poison that doesn’t allow the dog even to make 50 steps after having eaten it. What is essential to keep with us are:
ATROPINE (Antidote for most poisons)
APOMORFINE (Powerful Repulsive)
CAFFEINE (Cardiotonic)
2 at least syringes of 2,5 mm and many needles (sometimes they get stuck and you may need many)
In case our dog is poisoned, immediately give it an atropine injection. It should be done on the internal side of the thigh and on the muscle to avoid wounding it. Firstly, we give atropine in order to neutralise the poison that is already found in our dog’s circulation and thus we free its nervous system that from the poison has become neutralised so it begins to function. Then, we inject Apomorfine (repulsive) so as for the stomach to make contractions and the poison to be removed. After the injection, the dog will soon vomit. Then, we can give it atropine for a second or even a third time until we see it moving on its own. If it cannot vomit we give it a second apomorfine - but not more than that. We can give it 5-6 Atropines during an hour. After having given it the first two atropines it would be wise to also give it caffeine which will help the heart cope, until you reach the veterinarian who will undertake further treatment. If you provide all the above, you will have ensured the survival of your dog.
With us on the mountain we should also carry antihistaminic products for wasp or scorpion stings but also antidotes for the bite of the viper (if there are any in the area).
